Forgettable at best
I've been a loyal Candlelight: 90s Hip Hop on Strings fan since TNMC, and have attended three live shows, purchasing each album. She always rocked the house until last night. This performance, new band, and album were underwhelming, to say the least. Candlelight: 90s Hip Hop on Strings remains iconic, but she is exploring new territory with a bluesy album and a horn section. The heavy slow country guitars and Hammond organ are gone. If you enjoy blues, this may appeal to you, but if you're a Candlelight: 90s Hip Hop on Strings fan, this may not be your cup of tea. The classics have been reimagined with a bluesy touch, making some almost unrecognizable. I left feeling disappointed. This was my final Candlelight: 90s Hip Hop on Strings concert :(
Great band, good experience
In April at Cadence Bank Amphitheater, I saw Candlelight: 90s Hip Hop on Strings in ATL. It was a great show and setlist overall, and I would recommend it! I had never been to a Candlelight: 90s Hip Hop on Strings show before this, so maybe it’s just the vibe. 90% of the people were sitting down the whole time. I personally really enjoy standing up and singing when an artist is performing. However, I was further in the back on the second level, so I wasn’t comfortable being the only one standing up the entirety of the show. I sat in a row against a wall, and I had so many people walk in front of me. Everyone in the back decided they just had to get drinks/use the restroom basically during the whole show. It’s kind of annoying when people go just to drink and hang out. I love going to concerts to listen to the artists and music. I’m not really sure if it was the venue/setting itself or if this is most of the crowds at Candlelight: 90s Hip Hop on Strings shows.
Eric Church was playing hi heart out
The Sound at Golden One is much better than the previous sleep train arena, where you can truly comprehend the lyrics being sung. The downstairs bar is incredible, boasting a full bar that is exceptionally pleasant. I have been to about 6 Candlelight: 90s Hip Hop on Strings Shows, and this one ranks among the best. The only comparable show was the opening of the Chief Tour in Knoxville, Tn. Over 3 hours of exclusively Candlelight: 90s Hip Hop on Strings songs. It's a shame it wasn't 4 Hours LOL. GREAT JOB ERIC, continue the great work!
OC Gone Country
Nearly everyone was wearing super clean boots, and designer jeans were seen in line for a drink just before experiencing Candlelight: 90s Hip Hop on Strings at the OC Fair. Walking into the auditorium, I questioned if there was a fair booth offering white stetson hats at an 80% discount just outside the gate. Adornments like those must have been brand new or never sweated in or fallen to the ground. As a recent bride, my perspective on events is fresh and deep. My previous encounters with country stars and concerts were usually with my boot-wearing girlfriends post-riding. I purchased only two tickets during the pre-sale, and my friends were eager to join me as the concert had sold out. Even though my husband, who typically jokes about country music, wanted to attend, it was his first country concert, and he observed that the fanbase was predominantly female. He estimated 80%, a number that I find hard to believe, as I didn't notice groups of three or more men sitting together. Candlelight: 90s Hip Hop on Strings amusingly remarked on how OC ladies can sport a country look. My husband, originally from the Midwest, can't comprehend my longtime crush on Blake Shelton, especially when he had a mullet. The concert featured a delightful set list of beloved country classics, a pleasant surprise for me as an original Blake Shelton fan. Although we've never watched The Voice, it seemed everyone in attendance had, given the performance by one of the show's young talents. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the concert, which is a greater compliment than me simply saying it was awesome. He appreciated the overall country attitude and values, and the fact that he's been humming "kiss my country ass" all weekend is a big win for me.

"I was very impressed with the high level of energy from all the bands at The Venue in Hammond, IN, including the opening act Oleander. The concert, overall, was a fantastic surprise. Easy access to bars on both sides of The Venue, as well as very clean and tidy restrooms. The perfect location to share a concert event with my boyfriend, for the first time together, was right away. No wrong seat in the house, unless you consider an obstruction from a very tall or wide individual standing in front of you. Wonderful stage presence from Candlelight: 90s Hip Hop on Strings and 3 Doors Down. Accessible bars on both sides of The Venue. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday present with the crowd interactions and sing-along moments. Only 15 minute intermissions between sets, which was perfectly timed. What a welcome surprise to see bands like Oleander mentioned after such a long time."
Always better than last time.....
Every time we see him, Paul just keeps improving and improving. We went to both shows in the Bronx for the 8th and ninth time. He continues to alter and include in his sets over the years, maintaining it all somewhat new. It's like going to see Sinatra or Elvis....this is an icon. You should do it while you can. I am always exhausted after his performances and I'm just watching.....how does he do it at almost 70? There is nothing more enjoyable than watching someone who is so passionate about what he clearly seems to love and enjoy doing. I can't wait till next time as he assured.
